ProLogis increases it take upProLogis ( 2010-04-28 )

ProLogis, a leading global provider of distribution facilities, has summarized the results of its business operations in the first quarter of 2010. Between 1 January and 31 March, the company signed lease agreements in Poland for more than 173,000 square meters of modern warehouse space, which represents a 200 percent increase in comparison to the same quarter last year. The result enabled ProLogis to maintain its leading position in the warehouse space market in Poland in terms of supply (35 percent of the market share) as well as the number and volume of the agreements signed (47 percent of all the lease agreements).

“The high quality and strategic location of buildings making up our extensive portfolio enable us to offer our clients optimal solutions to fulfill their requirements,” - said Ben Bannatyne, managing director for Central and Eastern Europe at ProLogis. We have also focused our current operations on developing relationships with existing customers and building trust among our new clients. The summary results for the first quarter prove that it is a good strategy.”

ProLogis signed new leases of more than 58,000 square meters during the first quarter. With these transactions, ProLogis added new customers to its current portfolio of clients, including DC, DS. Smith, DTA and TM Toys.

LOCATION STILL COUNTS
At the beginning of 2010, customers were most interested in modern ProLogis facilities located in southwestern Poland and in the Warsaw area. The distribution facilities strategically situated in Wrocław, Poznań, Chorzów, Sochaczew, Błonie or Teresin enable customers to handle deliveries both to the Polish market and Western Europe, as well as to the East.

The ProLogis portfolio consists of approximately 2.1 million square meters of space in 25 distribution parks in Poland and 3.7 million square meters in 40 parks in Central and Eastern Europe.

“Because ProLogis has such a large portfolio of warehouse facilities located strategically in Poland, customers enjoy almost unlimited possibilities of streamlining their logistic networks. Apart from the top quality service standards, the extensive network of warehouse facilities is one of the most important elements of the ProLogis offer,” Ben Bannatyne summed up.
